Heads up, food could be running out!
In true Canadian fashion, it has been a weird weather year. I am hearing from many beekeeper sources that warm temperatures are making the bees more active than normal. This has caused hives to eat their food supplies.
Since the weather has been warm, it will be acceptable to open the hive for a moment and pop in some food.
I would suggest a fondant that could be laid on top of your frames.
If you are in an urgent situation, you can hold them by sifting icing sugar onto the top of the frames or spraying them with sugar water. This will get some emergency carbs into them.
