KIT ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

YOUR KIT INCLUDES: 
 

Unpacking the box’s


Unpack all parts from the 2 cartons and lay them on a large flat surface.

Ensure all parts are present and undamaged. Packing list: 

2-part A - long outside side walls

2-part B - short outside end walls

2-part C - long inside side walls

2-part D - short inside end walls

1 - perforated metal floor

4 - perforated metal runway hive entrances

4 - black poly tubing vertical entrances 

2 - wooden runners

2 pieces long sidewall styrofoam insulation

3 pieces styrofoam insulation for the end walls

(2 smaller pieces to fit one end and 1 larger piece for the other end)

1-following board/hive dividers 

1 sheet of foil bubble wrap insulation inner cover

1 insulated steel hive cover

1 Bag with required screws, screwdriver bit, 1 nail for hole alignment

1 Bag of walnut husk material for texturing hive interior ( may be already applied)

8 entrance closure blocks

You will require:

While we have provided safety edges on exposed portions of the hive once assembled, during the assembly there are sharp, exposed metal edges which could cause a serious injury, therefore we recommend the use of a light pair of garden or work gloves, a long sleeved shirt and safety glasses.

4 pieces of duct or tuck tape approximately 6” long.

Approximately 15 - 20 litres (4 gallons) of peat moss, coir and/or forest floor material

A bottle of child-friendly glue and a spatula or scraper to spread the glue.

A couple of sheets of newspaper to line the hive floor.

Optional: Paint suitable for metal in a light colour for the hive body and colours for you to express your latent artistic talents!  Or felt pens, decals and stencils for the rest of us.
