The deluxe beekeeper stand while a bit more work and materials, is a treat for a busy beekeeper.  It includes a shelf at each end of the hive to hold your testing equipment and tools or to set a frame of bees aside while working the hive.  Below the shelves are rails, allowing for frame storage for convenience and wax moth protection, (exposed to air and light while protected from the elements.)

2 pieces 2 x 4" x 60"

4 pieces 2 x 4" x 20" (or desired height)
2 pieces 2 x 4" x 19 1/4"

4 pieces 1/2" thick strapping 12" long for frame holder rails

2 pieces plywood or boards 22 1/4" x 12" for shelves

The diagram shows 3 of the legs in position and the detail of the under-shelf frame rails.

This design does not include a solid top beneath the hive body but can be included if desired.

Longer legs will benefit from additional bracing for stabilizing the stand or a lower storage shelf can be added for convenient storage of your gear.

Don't forget to protect the leg ends from the earth, tar or paint and standing on bricks or stones will serve well to prolong the life of your stand.
